HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy)

Advanced treatment for selected peritoneal cancers combining cytoreductive surgery and heated chemotherapy.

What is HIPEC?

HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) is an advanced cancer treatment performed immediately after cytoreductive surgery. The procedure combines extensive tumor removal surgery with heated chemotherapy circulated throughout the abdominal cavity.

How Does HIPEC Work?

After visible tumor deposits are surgically removed, heated chemotherapy is circulated inside the abdomen. The chemotherapy solution is usually maintained between 41°C and 43°C to improve local drug penetration and increase exposure of microscopic cancer cells to treatment.
